Terms of Service

These terms are a contract between you and JSONsilo. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the JSONsilo website, console and API (together, the “Service”), operated by Jairon Landa as sole operator (“JSONsilo”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By creating an account, or by accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation.

2. Definitions

  • Account — the registered account through which you access the Service.
  • Silo — a JSON document you store with JSONsilo, addressable over HTTP, together with its metadata.
  • Your Content — the JSON and any other data you upload, store, generate or query through the Service.
  • Keys — the API keys used to read private silos and the management keys used to create, update and delete silos over the API. Management keys are issued with a fixed duration and stop working when they expire.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.
  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. Authentication is handled by our identity provider.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your Account and for keeping your Keys and credentials secret. Tell us promptly at hello@jsonsilo.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • One person or entity may not maintain multiple free Accounts to evade plan limits.

4. The Service and plans

JSONsilo offers a free plan and paid plans. The features and capacity of each plan — the number of silos, the maximum size per silo, which regional endpoints you may use, how long a management key may be issued for, the burst and daily request limits, and how far back request analytics can be queried — are described on the pricing page and are enforced by the Service. Exceeding a plan limit results in the request being rejected rather than billed as overage.

Choosing a region for a silo selects the API endpoint that serves it. It is a routing and access feature of your plan and is not a data residency commitment; see the Privacy Policy for where data is actually stored.

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may set or adjust technical limits, to keep the Service reliable for everyone. We will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes to a paid plan you are on.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break any applicable law or regulation, or infringe anyone’s rights;
  • store or distribute malware, phishing content, or material that is unlawful, defamatory, or that sexually exploits minors;
  • store payment card data, government identifiers, health records, or other sensitive personal data as a system of record, or use silos as a general-purpose file host or content-delivery backend for unrelated media;
  • send spam, or use a public silo to host content for a service that violates these Terms;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent authentication, rate limits, or plan limits;
  • place a disproportionate load on the infrastructure, or interfere with any other user’s use of the Service;
  • resell or offer the Service to third parties as your own without our written agreement.

We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content or suspend access as described in section 11.

6. Your Content

  • Ownership. You keep all rights in Your Content. We claim no ownership of it.
  • Licence to operate. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, cache, transmit, and display Your Content solely to provide and maintain the Service, and to the extent needed to comply with law.
  • Responsibility. You are responsible for Your Content, for having the rights to store and share it, and for your choice of whether a silo is public or private. Public silos can be read by anyone with the URL, with no authentication.
  • Backups. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important. The Service is not a backup product.
  • Takedown. If you believe content on a public silo infringes your rights, email hello@jsonsilo.com with enough detail to identify the content and your claim. We may remove or disable access to content we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law.

7. Fees, billing and refunds

  • Payment provider. Paid plans are sold through LemonSqueezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to LemonSqueezy’s terms, and taxes are handled at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card details.
  • Subscriptions renew. Subscription plans are billed in advance on a recurring cycle (monthly or annual, as selected) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel or resume a subscription at any time from the console; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep the paid features until then.
  • One-time plans. Where a plan is offered for a single payment rather than a subscription, it does not renew and is not a promise that the Service will be operated indefinitely. If we discontinue the Service, section 9 applies.
  • Plan changes. Upgrading or downgrading takes effect through our payment provider and is prorated under its rules. Downgrading may put you over the limits of your new plan; you are responsible for bringing your usage within them.
  • Refunds. We offer a refund within 7 days of a charge, no questions asked. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Refunds are processed through LemonSqueezy.
  • Price changes. We may change plan prices. Changes apply to your next renewal, and we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email.
  • Non-payment. If a renewal payment fails, we may downgrade or suspend your Account until it is resolved.

8. Rate limits and fair use

Every plan has a burst limit and a daily request cap. Silo responses carry headers telling you your daily limit, how much of it remains, and when it resets. Requests over a limit are rejected with HTTP 429 until the allowance resets, which happens on a 24-hour cycle. We may apply further protective limits to any Account whose usage threatens the stability of the Service.

9. Availability

We work to keep the Service available and fast, but it is provided without a formal uptime commitment unless a separate written service-level agreement says otherwise. We may perform maintenance, and we may suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service; for a discontinuation that materially affects a paid plan, we will give reasonable advance notice and refund any prepaid, unused fees.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting and our edge network, database hosting, account authentication, payments, and error monitoring. The providers we currently use are named in our Privacy Policy, which we keep up to date; we may change providers at any time. Payments are handled by a provider acting as merchant of record, so your purchase is also subject to that provider’s terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these providers. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.

11. Suspension and termination

  • You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your Account from the console once you have deleted your silos — the Service will not delete an Account that still holds any. Deleting your Account cancels your access; cancel any paid subscription separately first if you do not want it to renew.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, if your use poses a security or legal risk, if required by law, or for prolonged non-payment.
  • Where practical and lawful, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure before terminating a paid Account for breach.
  • On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete Your Content. Export anything you need first. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, fees already due, disclaimers, liability, and indemnification) survive termination.

12. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, documentation, and the JSONsilo name and logo, is owned by JSONsilo and protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service as provided. We welcome feedback and may use it without restriction or obligation to you.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will meet your requirements, or that data will not be lost. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JSONsilo and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in that period or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold harmless JSONsilo and its operator from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice by email or in the console before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any paid plan.

17. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents they reference are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any prior agreement on that subject.
  • Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • No waiver. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Notices. We may give notice by email to your Account address or by posting in the console or on jsonsilo.com. Send notices to us at hello@jsonsilo.com.
